Multiplication is one of the most challenging aspects of basic mathematics. Yet, the skill is vital in real life as memorizing the facts and not the times tables makes problem-solving faster. 

Multiplication facts are just facts which are stored in the memory and if they are not used regularly then they are less conspicuous.

Without full mastery of the multiplication facts, kids struggle as they start to tackle division, fractions, and problems with larger numbers. They use so much of their working memory on simple calculations that they have little brain space left for understanding new concepts. This make them lose interest, focus and thereby their confidence.  

I am a certified speed maths trainer and have experienced a lot of adults and kids getting stuck with the higher order facts like 7×8,  7×6 , .... when they try to solve problems.  

At Artskool, we use visualisation and picture memory techniques to master the multiplication facts. Regular practice for a few months, and refreshing the facts will help them retain the facts for their lifetime. 

Course duration: 3 months

1 lesson for 1 hour per week 

Total of 12 lessons 

2 face to face lessons and 10 online lessons

We are probably more familiar with the terms ‘left brain’, ‘right brain’, and the characteristics related to each side of the brain. But did you know that we can use both sides of the brain interchangeably? Whole Brain Activation  helps your child to do just that: tapping into both hemispheres of the brain.

Besides unleashing the potential of your child’s brain, one of the other missions of the program is to inculcate in children a strong sense of self-belief and confidence.

For children aged 5 to 12 years old, children will be exposed to brain-stimulating activities such as music therapy, finger gym, games, puzzles, etc. As the brain is being exposed to stimulating activities, it undergoes a process known as hemispheric synchronisation, where the whole brain is activated and stimulated. This means the potential on both sides of the brain is utilised and ‘activated’.

Once your child’s brain has been activated, it will remain activated. It is like, cycling or swimming. Once you have picked up the skill, it remains with you forever. But if you do not practice, your skills will become rusty and will probably need some time to pick them up again.
